We had a great day with Anita visiting 4 Bay Islands off the Brisbane coastline – firstly Russell Island, followed by Lamb Island, then to Macleay Island where we had a light lunch and then finally Karragarra Island. We were met by Anita at the Redland Bay Ferry Marina and she was very knowledgeable about the history of each of the islands and showed us points of interest at each island. We have lived in Brisbane for over 40 years and this is the first time we have visited these islands and were amazed at how lovely and easy to reach they were. We visited several art galleries and also visited a local artist’s home where she has certainly put her stamp on decorating it – very quaint and unusual. The locals that we met were very friendly and we felt very relaxed being with Anita and the ferry trips between the islands were prompt and efficient and we thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to see the local islands near Brisbane.”

Only tip – get to the ferry terminal 15min early as parking can be difficult to find on a Saturday morning.”

Anita, our host, was fantastic, she has a good knowledge of the local history and pointed out several of the native edible plants and berries during our guided walk between Artist studios. Overall a very unique place to visit, on the outside the Islands seem quiet and sleepy but there is actually lots to do there and there’s a fantastic community feel about the place.”
